The cover frightened me and the 'lame-dar' blipped, but I tried it anyway. To my joy, the game is fun, has great mechanics and is relatively quick. It is the best co-operative game I've ever played (and the game always has a clear winner).

I really enjoyed this game! Its great fun for groups of 3-8 people and the fun is in the playing of the game more than the winning of it. I played it at game night at Redmond Uncles (fridays 7:00 - midnight) and honestly when I saw the game and it was descibed as a game where "you grow beans.." I wasnt impressed and was a little apprehensive but after playing it I am hooked!
Bohnanza is a great family game and lots of fun for everyone, its a trading game and the goal is to grow your bean fields then trade in your sets of bean cards for gold coins. Mainly its just a blast trading with everyone and making deals and with this game the more people you have to play the merrier. I would suggest this lighthearted game to all ages and the expansion set bohnaparte adds a great dimension with special bean fields that give special abilities to the players in exchange for gold coins.
