Wizard is a variant of the game “Oh Hell.” It's a trick taking game where the hand size keeps changing. In Wizard, players have one card on the first hand, two on the second, and so on. Before each hand, a card is turned up from the left over cards to determine the trump suit, and the players make their bid by predicting how many tricks they will take that hand. The hand is played like in most trick taking games, but with a twist. In addition to the standard cards in the deck, there are eight extras. The four Wizard cards are higher than anything else, even trump cards, and the four Fool cards are below everything. These extra cards make for some new tactics, and for some surprises!
At the end of a hand, players compare their bid to the number of tricks they actually took. Players who bid right get points, those who bid wrong will loose points! Whoever has the most points once you've played enough hands wins the game.
A fun twist on plain old trick taking games.
