Submited By: Michelle Foster on 07/19/2004 Wiard has taken up a permanent residence at our house. Every Saturday night we get together with other friends who enjoy the game of Wizards as much as we do. It’s addictive and never the same game twice.

Submited By: eric meissner on 05/16/2004 Wizard is a very fun game to play and the larger the crowd, the better! Not only is it addictive, it is fairly straight foward and ideal for those who like to play trump style games. Once you have gained a good grasp of the game, you can go on to modify the rules for a more interesting and challenging game.

Submited By: Andrew Wilson on 05/11/2004 Wizard is a variant of the game “Oh Hell.” It's a trick taking game where the hand size keeps changing. In Wizard, players have one card on the first hand, two on the second, and so on. Before each hand, a card is turned up from the left over cards to determine the trump suit, and the players make their bid by predicting how many tricks they will take that hand. The hand is played like in most trick taking games, but with a twist. In addition to the standard cards in the deck, there are eight extras. The four Wizard cards are higher than anything else, even trump cards, and the four Fool cards are below everything. These extra cards make for some new tactics, and for some surprises!
At the end of a hand, players compare their bid to the number of tricks they actually took. Players who bid right get points, those who bid wrong will loose points! Whoever has the most points once you've played enough hands wins the game.
A fun twist on plain old trick taking games.
