Elasund, initially a modest town on the coast, has rapidly progressed into a bustling city. A busy hub for ambitious Catanians, Elasund has now become the first city. Your task is to assist in the expansion and help bring about more prosperity. Building material has already been purchased and workers have been hired; your role is to decide which buildings to erect and where to place them. Location is everything, they say, but you will be competing with other developers, so shrewd planning is important. Make political connections to gain your required building permits and start generating income from your projects! Once you gain enough revenue, move on to bigger and better projects. Watch out for other contractors though, as they are waiting to one up you and take credit for your hard work. Only the most influential developer will win at Elasund - The First City!

Elasund - The First City, is part of the Catan series, however it is played as a stand alone game.

Although better then its predecessor in the series Candamear the First Settlers, i am still not sure I like the game. The game seemed to have too many rules that we had to look up and the game turn order did not come natural till the end of the game. Over all i need to play it aging to give it my final judgment, but this is a game that probably Mid to Mid-High seriousness gamers will be interested in. It has some mechanics of Settlers of Cattan, but no trading so definitely riding the name. Bottom line 2 Stars...
