Submited By: Rhea Zakich on 08/29/2003 I would LOVE to tell you about the Ungame. It is the most amazing experience. It looks like a pretty typical game, with a gameboard, decks of cards, dice and markers, but let me tell you, it is not like any other game on the market.
If players play be the rules, they will discover things about each other that I don't think would ever be shared in ordinary conversation. The most important rule is that everyone agrees NOT to talk unless it is their turn. Since all the question cards in the game pertain to the one drawing the card, this person does not have to worry about any interruptions, criticism, put downs, advice or someone trying to top their story. It's a wonderful exercise in listening to and respecting each other.
The Ungame is used in every imaginable setting since all ages can participate, from 4 year olds to 104 year olds. Everyone has ideas, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, dreams, memories and doubts, so everyone can enjoy sharing them in this safe place.
You'll find it in schools at all grade levels, counseling centers, living rooms, youth gatherings, churches, hospitals, on and on. Anyplace where people would benefit from increased understanding of each other.
You will laugh, maybe shed a tear. You will be surprised and maybe even surprise yourself! But the best thing is, you will come to understand those you care about and they will come to understand you, which brings people closer together.
Oh, by the way, I am the creator of this wonderful (Un)game!
