Ticket To Ride, winner of several game awards, is fairly easy to learn yet provides a strategic game that increases in intensity. Players have three options on their turns:

    • Draw new destination tickets
    • Draw more train route tickets.
    • Claim a route.

Players who can claim longer routes will gain more points, and the player with the longest continuous route will receive bonus points at the end. Train routes are claimed by placing the player's custom trains (each player has their own color of trains) along the route, as depicted on the game board. As the game continues, so does the tension as players are competing for the same routes. A careful balance must be waged between strategy (planning on gaining a particular route) and speed.

As with any Days of Wonder game, the components that comprise this game are of a nice quality. The oversized board map and cards feature aesthetically pleasing art work. This game is the recipient of the Speil des Jahres (German for Game of the Year) award for 2004.

Ticket to Ride is sure to become a favorite on game night for young or old!

Ticket to Ride is just about perfect. This is a game that you can teach in 5 minutes (there are only three things you can do any given turn) and play over and over.

In TTR, the object of the game is to connect cities across the United States (or Europe, in the other edition) by building networks of railroad. This is done by collecting cards of varying colors- for example, you might need four blue cars to build a train from Chicago to St Louis, but only two orange cards to go from Kansas City to Oklahoma City.

An easy game to learn, and competitive without having a lot of direct confrontation. A wonderful "ticket" to the world of European-style gaming.

This game is fantastic. Even my dad likes it (and he hardly ever plays games). You have to have good strategy and you have to know the right time to play your cards and when to hoard them. It's most fun with 3-4 people or teams.

Great game... I don’t think I need to go in to detail of how great it is... Easy 5 Stars, but my five stars in nothing next to all the awards... A quick note: European map version is much better: a) its better made, playing cards are full sized instead of miniature versions b)European has stations, extra thing that you can play with or with out c) the map is more balanced....
