Scotland Yard pits the mysterious escape artist Mr. X against a team of detectives in a cat-and-mouse game through the London cityscape. One player assumes the role of Mr. X, wearing the included cap. Two to six remaining players become the pursuing agents, using a limited number of taxi, bus, and underground transportation tickets to move around the city.
The slippery Mr. X is an invisible presence on the board, documenting each move in his travel log. Mr. X may use any transportation mode--including 2 hidden boat routes and a few double move tickets--but he must reveal his whereabouts every five turns or so. Using logic and deductive reasoning, detectives attempt to land on Mr. X's exact location to win the game. If Mr. X can evade them until they are out of tickets, he wins the game.
