The people of Carcassonne have become overcrowded and some have decided it is time to branch out. In this game, players have begun exploring distant lands to establish new settlements. This adventure takes place over sea, atop mountain ranges, and through grasslands. Players must deploy followers (a.k.a.
Meeples) such as navigators, brigands, and explorers, in a strategic fashion to maximize points. The point system in this version has a slightly new slant from its predessor,
Carcassonne, in that
you decide when to score your points (some points are scored during the game while others are designed for scoring at the end the game). Completed regions score more points at the conclusion, however, they also absorb valuable turns and resources. The decision will have to be carefully evaluated.
Carcassonne - The Discovery is an exciting game that allows for two to five "explorers"!
Please note: Although part of the Carcassonne series, this game is a stand alone game and does not require another game to play.
